Dear Friends, October 2004

It is definitely a war that we’re in as the last 60 days have well illustrated.

I hadn’t planned on getting another letter out so soon but I thought it was urgent to get the information about October 8, found in the Letter From A Friend, to you as soon as possible. I hope you will read it and act effectively.

Meetings

The meetings have been going really well. We have had some tremendous services. In one church a young female college student who was an atheist came to the service. I didn’t know she was such but that night I mocked the foolish things that atheists and evolutionists believe. She laughed with the rest of them and left asking her friend about Jesus Christ and salvation.

In August I taught at the Pastors’ School at Rick Sowell’s church in Toledo, Ohio. Last year the school was held at Rick DeMichele’s church in Boise, Idaho. I cannot tell you how great the spirit was there! Pastors were blessed and not brow-beat. No one looked down on anyone else. I had pastor after pastor tell me the meeting was such a genuine blessing. The meeting rotates every-other-year between Boise and Toledo. Next year it will be August 23 - 26 in Boise. I would highly recommend it to any Bible believing preacher. (We all get together and “share” and then we rip our shirts off and “bond.” Nope!)

We are finished with New England and are now headed into the Tennessee / Kentucky /Ohio area for the rest of the year.

Schedule change: Oct. 24- 27 - Gospel Light BC - Cookville, TN, 931-646-7137

Books & Tapes

The third edition of An Understandable History of the Bible is at the printer. This edition has two new chapters plus expanded information about the NIV, NASV, NKJV and New Scofield. I don’t know the price yet but you can call 1-800-311-1823 to order it.

I won’t know until the Understandable History is done as to whether there will be enough money left to print Fight on! We had a gracious gift given towards its printing but we’ve yet to see if it was enough.

My publishing company, DayStar Publishing, has just finished printing a reformatted edition of Jim White’s book, Life’s Great Moments and Other Reasons I Considered Joining the French Foreign Legion. It is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read. If you want one call the 800 number above and order it.

Before I get back to the other four books I’m working on, I’ve decided to jam in two other smaller, but important, projects. I won’t tell you what they are until they’re completed but I find them pretty exciting and I think you’ll like them.

The Bus & Truck

The bus & truck have both been repaired and are back on the road. We have GMAC insurance. I don’t know what your experience with car insurance companies has been but GMAC has been absolutely unbelievable! They didn’t hesitate to get our vehicles into the shop. They paid the body shop promptly. Every single person we’ve talked to from this company has been both courteous and helpful. After everything was fixed they sent a questionnaire for us to evaluate their performance and just today I got a phone call from a representative asking for another evaluation and asking if there was anyway they should change their procedures to make things easier on us! (Are these people from this planet?) They have been great!

The bus now has 17,000 miles on it and the truck, 54,000. (It had 38,000 when we bought it.) The bus has made traveling and setting up so much easier. Plus, because it has an air suspension, we don’t feel beat to death when we get where we’re going.

Family

Jon & Sheila have celebrated their 1st anniversary.

Nathan & Rose have celebrated their 2nd . Deborah is over a year old now and walking like a champ.

Last August 12th , Kathy & I celebrated our 32nd anniversary.

Luke is in Pensacola beating up Jehovah’s Witlesses and Calvinists with his Bible.

All-in-all we’re all doing pretty good.

Well, I must go because I have a passel of other things to get done in a very short time.

God bless you all and thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for your prayers. They keep us going!
