9th Quarter Lessons
  1. Joseph and Mary: A Love Story
In this lesson, we begin our Bible study of the New Testament. Clem the Donkey from the town of Nazareth will introduce us to his master, Joseph. The children will learn three new songs this lesson:
A Simple Carpenter, Joseph's song when he finds out that he will have to raise the Son of God.
Joseph and Me, a song that Clems sings about the good ol' days when Joseph and Clem would travel all over Galilee, making wooden things for people.
I'll Never Be Lonely, Mary's song when she found out she was going to be the earthly mother of Jesus. The goal of this lesson is for each child to make sure that Jesus dwells inside of them.

  2. Caravan to Bethlehem
In this lesson, the children will have a visit from Clem the Donkey and an angel. We will introduce two new songs this lesson:
Precious Cargo, sung by Clem the Donkey about his trip from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
Caravan to Bethlehem, the song about Joseph and Mary's exciting trip to Bethlehem.
The goal of this lesson is for each child to carry the name of Jesus to the whole world.

  3. The Birth of Jesus
In this lesson, we tell the wonderful story of the birth of the King of Kings. We introduce two new songs as we continue with the beautiful Christmas story:
Joseph and Me . . . and Mary and Jesus, sung by Clem the Donkey as he begins his caravan to Bethlehem.
Let Us Now Go to Bethlehem, the shepherds' song after they had a fascinating encounter with angels.
The goal of this lesson is for each child to make room in his heart for Jesus.

  4. Wise People Seek and Worship Jesus
This lesson is based upon Bible stories of what happened after Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Clem the Donkey will tell the children how wise men came from the East to worship Jesus. The goal of this lesson is for each child to seek and worship Jesus.

  5. The Growing Up Years of Jesus
This lesson follows the life of Jesus from His birth to His baptism thirty years later. In the song Trust Not in the King, Clem the Donkey teaches the children about how mean King Herod really did not want to see Jesus but just wanted to kill Him. The goal of this lesson is for each child to grow up physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

  6. John the Baptist and the Baptism of Jesus
In this lesson, we will learn about one of the greatest men who ever lived, a man sent from God named John the Baptist. During the puppet skit, Oscar the Pig will teach the children how he and John the Baptist have a lot in common! The goal of this lesson is for each child to desire to be great in the sight of the Lord.

  7. The Temptation of Christ
In this lesson, we are going to study about one of the greatest battles in history -- the day that the Devil went one-on-one against Jesus and lost. Gloria VanderBoot will teach the children to follow Jesus in the song entitled The Devil Is a Loser. The goal of this lesson is for each child to learn how to resist the Devil and temptation.

  8. Jesus Starts to Preach
In this lesson, we will learn about when Jesus, the greatest preacher who ever lived, started to preach. In the Bible Message, the children will learn the story of Nicodemus coming to Jesus by night. The goal of this lesson is for each child to faithfully talk about Jesus wherever he or she goes.

  9. Jesus Chooses the Twelve Apostles
In this lesson, the children will be introduced to the twelve apostles, men whom Jesus selected to preach about Jesus. Smithfield the Swine will sing a chorus entitled Follow Me. The goal of this lesson is for each child to follow Jesus each day of his or her life.

  10. The Sermon on the Mount
In this lesson, we will study the longest and most famous sermon Jesus preached in the Bible -- the Sermon on the Mount. Gloria, Oscar, and Smithfield will teach the children a song based on that sermon entitled The Beatitudes Song. The goal of this lesson is for each child to become more like Jesus each day of his or her life.

  11. Jesus, Creator and Lord
In this lesson, we will continue our study of the Sermon on the Mount, discovering how much Jesus talked about animals. Mrs. VanderBoot learns a lesson about having her pearl necklace in close vicinity to Oscar the Pig. The goal of this lesson is for each child to become aware that Jesus is both Creator and Lord of his life.

  12. Jesus the Healer
As we continue our study about Jesus in the Gospels, we will focus on Jesus as a miracle worker. Boot the Mule will sing a song about this entitled Jesus Is the Healer and Provider. The goal of this lesson is for each child to trust Jesus to heal him of disease and sin.

  13. Jesus the Provider
This lesson we look at Jesus the Provider, realizing that Jesus is not only interested in our spiritual well-being, but also our physical well-being. Gloria and Oscar teach the children a song based on Matthew 6:33 entitled But Seek Ye First. The goal of this lesson is for each child to live a life of faith, trusting in Jesus to meet every need.
